Okay.
So my house is very very creepy. It's...haunted *gasp comes from the crowd* Yep that's right! Haunted.
Read it!
I guess I'll tell you a few things about the house I currently live in.
My family and I are the FIRST people to live here, we watched it get built and stuff like that. We've probably lived here for five years or so. The property my house is on now used to be woods and in our backyard I've found a few bricks in the ground and they are in a place of my backyard that NEVER grows any grass, it's a really small area though and when I told my mum about the bricks she said some construction workers could've dumped them there.
I believed that for a while because I was younger but then realized first, our house is NOT made of bricks and second...why would construction workers go back into the woods nearly thirty feet to dump materials.
So first there could've been an old house on our lot.
Secondly...I have a huge antique vanity and an antique desk in my room, and my mom believes that the vanity is haunted. Which I guess I sort of agree with because it has a huge mirror and just generally has a creepy vibe.
The two things above were kind of pointless because they really are in no way involved in the haunting, but I decided to mention them anyway.
I'm going to try and be as brief as possible (which isn't very brief so you can leave now if you'd like) and give you a sort of time line (as best as possible, seeing as I don't remember exact dates).
I think the first thing that happened that I was told about (and remember) was when my mom thought she saw a man in our backyard.
It was before dinner time and our whole family was inside, each member doing there own thing.
My mum was standing at the sink, doing dishes, and all of a sudden she froze and my dog started barking like crazy. I think I had been in the middle of a conversation with her so I asked what was wrong. She said that she had saw someone outside walk from behind our "fireplace" to about halfway across our patio then sort of disappear. She said at first she thought it was my dad because the "man" was wearing a similar brown coat. But, my dad was inside with the rest of my family.
My mum also says that the mans wardrobe resembled that of a confederate soldier.
The next memory I have was when my family was watching TV together and in the middle of the program the speaker system shut off entirely and my dog started barking. No one was near the remote to switch that turns it on and off.
The next thing was something that might've not really happened was a few months after my cat died. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a sort of wispy white figure of the cat that had died. I was apparently confused and thought that she was still alive because I moved backwards on the bed and patted the mattress to single that she could come and lay with me. But then I fell asleep so that could've been a "waking dream".
Okay, so if you've actually read this whole thing then thanks. But now in my little time line thingy, I've gotten to the point where I can remember these things more clearly.
About three years ago, me, my mum, and my two brothers got home from my brother's swim class and couldn't find our dog. We found him in the bathroom downstairs with the door closed and he was whimpering like crazy. We don't know if he SOMEHOW closed himself in but he is a very smart dog and wouldn't go in the bathroom in the first place. We checked the whole house and no one was inside.
Around Christmas time that same year we started getting "phantom smells" of cigarette smoke in the house. No one in our household smokes.
Last year, around April, is one of the experiences that stands out most to me.
I woke up at around four in the morning and heard footsteps outside of my room, and they sounded like they were coming from the stairs and were about to round the corner to my room.
I KNEW that I did NOT dream this, because by the time I looked into the hallway I was very much awake. When I did look into the hallway there was a shadow at the corner. It was really dark and had a slightly human-like shape. When I looked into the hallway in seemed like it turned in my direction and immediately moved backwards. I ran to my parent's room and made my dad check the house before I could go back to sleep.
A week or so afterward my parent's said the heard a little girl call for her mommy and then start moaning. I was awake at the time but I was listening to music with the headphones turned up all the way. I didn't hear it, but around the time the said they heard it I got an uneasy feeling and kept looking into the hallway nervously.
We've heard the girl a few other times (I heard her once), but the one time that someone outside of the family heard it was about three weeks ago when my friend and I heard it twice (there were other girls in the room so we were straining our ears, at first we thought it was my little brother). We went downstairs and my mum said that my brothers were asleep but when she went up to check on them, she turned off the TV, went to the bathroom, and when she passed their room the TV was on again.
The most recent experience was about four or five nights ago when I was trying to go to sleep. I had thought I had heard the girl again, but wasn't very sure, so I asked my mum if she'd heard anything and she said no.
Then about two hours later, I was the only one awake in the house, and could NOT fall asleep. Then I got smothered by the smell of cigarette smoke and could barely breath for the rest of the night.
I doubt anyone will read this whole thing, but I have ONE question...Do you think it's possible for a woman to have a miscarriage and then the spirit to "haunt" the family? My mum had two miscarriages and one of my friend's suggested this. Oh yeah, and I doubt any of these hauntings are related (except for the shadow-man-thing I saw and the little girl, I have a few theories about those two). And just to say this: I'm for real on all of this. I have a lot of things on my hands at the moment and I would not randomly make all this up for attention. I prefer to stay unnoticed anyway. :)
